Dear Sirs,
We have at present in our Godown the undernoted goods which arrived per s.s. "FerencRE" or "Telemachus" to be forwarded to you. We have just received advice from Messrs Dehr & Co, Manchester shippers, that these goods were delivered to them by Messrs Alexander & Co, Liverpool for a/c of Messrs F. Rosenstern & Co, Hamburg. Messrs Dehr & Lehr & Co state that they have not been paid by Messrs Rosenstern & Co, Hamburg & therefore claim the goods or the proceeds of their sale. As we think that you will probably have need of the goods we suggest that you open for us with a Sydney Bank a confirmed Banker's Credit for £350.-. We will then ship the goods & draw for their value, plus freight & storage charges etc to Sydney consigning the goods to your Bankers. Then they can forward the goods for your a/c to Rabaul collecting freight & charges from Sydney to Rabaul from yourselves.
We shall be glad to hear whether our suggestion falls in with your views.
